WSALC has an arrangement with Surrey Hills Solicitors whereby very urgent legal advice can be dealt with under the terms of the membership subscription. This retained arrangement can be invoked by the CEO following approach from the Chairman or Clerk setting out a potentially threatening situation where a council needs to act immediately and cannot arrange authority for expenditure. 

For routine and transactional legal work Surrey Hill's extensive understanding of the work of the Sector will benefit any council where an approach is made for advice.

Councils are also reminded that NALC can offer legal advice although its legal team cannot act for a council as client; there is no charge for this advice and it comes as part of the NALC subscription.
